Fuji at Assembly is a perfect marriage of contemporary and traditional. The space is outfitted by a modern-day industrial look, yet furnished with reclaimed wood dating back over one hundred years. The velvety black drop ceilings give way to copper-colored mirrors, providing guests a glance of the sushi chefs delicately preparing and serving traditional Japanese Omakase. Here, at six reservation-only seats, chefs select from ingredients delivered fresh daily and compose a unique meal for each customer. Also on the menu is an array of authentic Sichuan dishes, each of which the bold spices originating from Southwest China can be enjoyed. Along with the savory cuisine and full-service bar, Fuji at Assembly reflects the finesse and ingenuity that Jimmy Liang, Peter Tse and the JP Fuji Group brings to each of their ventures. With their commemorative tenth restaurant opening in Somerville in October 2014, the team reintroduces traditional styles that create an experience that is not to be missed.
